Belief

I listened to a great recorded training call this afternoon.  The speaker touched on the four key things that had to be in place before you can be successful in network marketing. As you are evaluating your career in network marketing you should ask yourself if you can answer yes to the following four questions:
  1. Do you have belief in yourself?
  2. Do you have belief in the network marketing industry?
  3. Do you have belief in your products?
  4. Do you have belief in the management team of your company?
If you hesitated even the slightest when answering any of those questions then you need to stop and seek the support of your sponsor or upline. Ask them for suggestions on how to improve your beliefs. They can suggest some good books and/or training that will help you to turn those answers into a definitive YES.

The one thing that you don't want to do is give up. Remember, most people did not become overnight successes in network marketing. But, the ones that did become successful all had one thing in common. They didn't give up!

Branding Yourself

One of the biggest lessons that I have learned over the course of my business career is the importance of branding yourself. This is especially important if you are marketing online. You want people to be able to put your name into a search engine to find out more about you.

The first step in establishing your personal brand is to get a personal website. It doesn't have to be super fancy but it needs to tell people about you. Spend some time writing your story. What brought you into your business? What is your past experience? Get your picture on your site. People buy from you and join you in business because of personal relationships. Michael Clouse's training always sticks in my head..."People join you because they know you, like you and trust you." A personal website gives people a chance to get to know you.

The next step in creating your personal brand is establishing yourself as an expert. You want people to come to you for solutions. Be known as a person or business of value. Some of the things that you can do are writing a newsletter or article writing. But be sure that the content that you produce is useful. Don't just blast out your product or opportunity and think that people will find that useful. If you are successful at branding yourself prospects will contact you.

Colony Collapse Disorder

When I first heard the term Colony Collapse Disorder I had no idea what it meant. But, as it turns out it's a very real problem that is threatening the production of our fresh fruits and vegetables. Many agricultural crops worldwide are pollinated by bees. If left unsolved, it could affect the availability of the food we eat. Well, that certainly caught my attention.

The loss of bee colonies is growing and researchers are trying to figure out why this is happening. There is a group at Penn State University called the "Colony Collapse Disorder Working Group" that is currently investigating this problem. CCD has become a growing concern and consumers are making donations to further the research.

So, what exactly does this have to do with candles? You can contribute to the cause by purchasing a Honey Bee Vanilla candle. A portion of all sales will be sent to Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences.

You can find out more information on CCD at http://maarec.cas.psu.edu/ColonyCollapseDisorder.html.

Handwritten Notes - A Lost Art?

When was the last time that you sat down and wrote someone a handwritten note? Or when was the last time that you received a handwritten note? Nowadays it is much easier to send an email or text because we know that the receiver will get the message, in some cases, instantaneously. We no longer send paper invitations because it is much easier to send an Evite. Cards can be sent online with just a few mouse clicks. Even though we have access to these conveniences we should not forget about the handwritten note. It can be a very powerful tool in your business. Whether you are sending a thank you note to a customer or a note of congratulations to a member of your team, the handwritten note is a great relationship builder. Just think about the last time you went to your mailbox and someone took the time and effort to write you a note. I bet that it made you smile. I encourage you to make this a part of your routine. The extra effort that you put forth will be well worth it!

The Butterfly Experiment

Tomorrow I'm embarking on a 30 experiment called The Butterfly Experiment. I've been reading a lot about the Law of Attraction so I'm looking forward to taking part in these exercises. I firmly believe that self development is an important part of achieving success.

"Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you." ~ Nathaniel Hawthorne
